Anitua Retail, led by the Supermarket team, staged a successful outreach program to kick-start the Independence month in September.
Retail General Manager, Tracey Soupa, explained that this was part of Anitua Retail’s initiative to give back to the local community.
“We decided that our first outreach program would be to Lihir Secondary School, hence we spent a fun filled day with the boarding students on Saturday 3rd September 2022,” said Ms Soupa.
“Part of our program included motivational speeches, sports and a lunch, provided by NCS.
“We themed the program in line with the school’s motto which is Success Through Effort because at Anitua Retail, our success is possible through team effort.
“We ended the day with a donation comprising of food rations and cleaning supplies to the boarding students.”
Participating in the program at Lihir Secondary School were all the boarding students and employees of Anitua Retail, Transport, Construction and Corporate Services.
“I’m really grateful to the other business units and staff for coming out to support Anitua Retail’s outreach program.” said Ms Soupa.
“We had an amazing day out and it was good to see the kids happy and having fun. Something different to their usual boarding weekend.”
